Why does MSAB deserve your consideration?
MSAB has, since its founding in 1984, set the global standard for the digital forensics industry. The MSAB vision is to empower every investigation with digital forensic solutions – for a safer world.
MSAB has helped many agencies transform their workflows and practices, and acquire mobile data faster, easier and more securely than ever before.
The company has been hard at work making big improvements across our entire product range. XRY is now faster than ever and supports decoding of data from both iOS and Android devices.
XAMN has gone through several significant user experience improvements and the latest version replicates chat views in a super easy to understand layout. Meanwhile our XEC product range allows for greater supervision and support than ever before.
This blog post is going to provide you with some information on why we believe we deserve your vote.
DFIR Commercial Tool of the Year – MSAB XRY
At MSAB we know the importance of continuous innovation. We are working hard to build a higher quality product for our customers by listening to the feedback and comments.
Our developers have been working hard on improving XRY to both enable Forensic Specialists and Frontline Personnel access an increased amount of data and to do so with faster extraction times.
XRY now brings significant extraction and decoding capabilities to more mobile devices, with the total number of supported device and app profiles exceeding 41900 including Signal, Telegram, WhatsApp, Tinder, google Maps and more.
In order to support digital forensic examiners who need to bypass locks faster, we have added full physical extraction on new devices with MTK chipsets using a new Android MediaTek BootRom Generic profile. Additionally, you can now perform more physical extractions on the latest Samsung Exynos devices with brute forcing of passwords.
The latest release comes with multiple improvements and added support for XRY Cloud, including improved instructions for Twitter, Google Cloud, LinkedIn and iCloud.
Extract more mobile data while emphasizing the right to privacy for victims
MSAB aims to enable law enforcement agencies to demonstrate that they are taking all reasonable technological steps to mitigate the risks associated with holding personal data obtained via mobile phone extraction.
This is exactly what the MSAB mobile forensic extraction solution, XRY, does by allowing law enforcement agencies to target their extractions to only recover data from specified selected apps to ensure the rights to privacy for victim and witness phones.
The key differentiator here is that the only data ever seen by law enforcement can be defined by the settings. If a user only wants data from a certain app for a certain time, it can easily be done with XRY. This can be used in conjunction with pre-existing extraction filters in XRY and enable operators to restrict mobile investigations, comply with data privacy requirements and ensure the rights to privacy for victim and witness phones.
The XRY file format is forensically secure
The XRY forensic file format has built in protection and encryption with a secure forensic file container designed to ensure a secure chain of custody of digital data and helps avoid the risks associated with data stored in open file formats. Our new faster and more secure file format has an upgraded security framework to keep digital evidence protected and offer a secure and reliable chain of custody for evidential files.
Apple Facial Recognition decoding
XRY can now take advantage of Apple facial recognition to identify faces in iOS pictures, providing categorization and matching within extracted data, enabling you to search for a specific face in a cluster of pictures when analyzing the data in XAMN.
