We’re excited to introduce Holly Grace Williams, our special guest for Episode 13 of Forensic Fix!

Holly Grace has 16 years in cybersecurity under her belt, and she specializes in penetration testing and cyber security consultancy.

“If I’m talking to an IT professional or a cyber security professional, I would just say I’m a pen tester. But quite often, when I’m talking to the general public or even the media, and I’m trying to get across what it is that I do for a living without any kind of negative connotations or assumptions on their part […] I say “I break into computers for a living.” It gets the point across in a way that’s a little bit fun and a little bit more interesting than spending 10 minutes explaining what pen testing is.”

Three years ago, Holly Grace founded Akimbo Core, a company delivering penetration testing services, as well as cybersecurity training and consultancy. Prior to going the entrepreneurship route, she’d held various cybersecurity roles, even serving as a security officer with the British Army Royal Corps of Signals.

Holly Grace is a familiar face on the cybersecurity conference circuit and her expertise even landed her on media giants like Sky News and BBC Breakfast. In 2021 and 2019 she was recognized as one of SC’s “Women of Influence” in the “30 Top Cybersecurity Leaders.” No small achievement was winning Computing’s Security Woman of the Year award.

When she’s not in front of her computer, she spends a great amount of time outside hiking up mountains. And that led her to embrace a very special hobby. Not only does Holly Grace assist organizations with their cyber security issues and pen testing needs, but she also rescues people from mountains (and fells, and more). She volunteers for a mountain rescue team, helping keep people safe when the outdoors turns perilous.

Slightly switching gears from digital forensics, Episode 13 brings into focus cybersecurity and penetration testing. Holly’s vast experience and passion for the field add up to a very interesting conversation. With a career as impressive as hers, you already know you’re in for a very exciting episode.
