MSAB is the global leader in forensic technology for mobile device examination, with offices in Europe and in the USA, as well as a network of distributors across the globe. The company has been involved with mobile communications since 1984 and now has a singular focus on the forensic recovery of data from mobile devices.

Our XRY software has been used by investigators to quickly and effectively retrieve information, such as pictures, SMS, call history, contact lists and application data since 2003.

XRY is used by Police, Law Enforcement, Military, Government Intelligence Agencies and Forensic Laboratories in over 100 countries worldwide to investigate crime, gather intelligence, investigate fraud and fight corruption. In the UK alone we supply 97% of UK Police Forces with XRY for mobile device examination.

MSAB’s sole focus is a quality forensic solution that creates secure and trusted results for end users. The core business today produces a world class product called XRY which has the capability to recover deleted data from mobile devices; smart-phones, mobile phones, 3G modems, GPS and Tablet devices. Building on that foundation we have released XAMN to provide smartphone analytics to our customer base.

The company is based in Stockholm and has been listed on the Swedish Stock Exchange since 1999. We have been recognized for the past 3 years running by The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA program as a technology company that has achieved the fastest rates of annual revenue growth in EMEA during the past five years.

2017

XEC Director and XAMN Elements are launched to market. MSAB announces strategic partnership with Nuix, makers of a market-leading digital investigative platform. XAMN Spotlight 2.0 is launched, allowing users to analyze mobile forensic data faster and with greater precision. With regular new updates, XRY expands its support for more mobile devices, including drones.

2016

MSAB introduces the MSAB Ecosystem to address investigative agencies’ needs for a complete set of mobile forensic tools to meet their needs & to provide a total solution approach. Strategic partnership announced with vehicle forensic provider Berla, makers of the iVE forensic system.

2015

The company undergoes a brand refresh from Micro Systemation AB to simply MSAB. XRY now supports over 16000 models and is being sold to over 100 countries worldwide. MSAB launches Advanced Acquisition & Advanced Apps Analysis forensic training course designed for professionals who need to extend to the next level of knowledge and understanding.

2014

The Kiosk is launched to help volume users for customers with wide area rollout requirements for mobile forensics. MSAB launches support for non-standard mobile devices using the XRY PinPoint solution. The company establishes new office and Area Sales manager in Australia to sell directly to customers in Australia and surrounding Islands.

2013

XAMN the analytical product for mobile forensics is launched. The company establishes a new office in China and commences direct sales to customers which yielded in a huge order for XRY coming from the Chinese government. This same year, the company receives a large order from law enforcement agencies on both federal and state levels

2012

MSAB establishes a new office in Sao Paulo, Brazil to oversee all sales and operations for the whole of Latin America. XRY support for 64bit computers is launched alongside support for smartphone apps. The Training Department reconfigures the professional certification offering and launches Foundation, Intermediate & Advanced level training courses.

2011

Micro Systemation transfers from NGM Equity to the Nasdaq OMX Stockholm exchange. The company receives additional large orders, both from the French Ministry of Interior and from one of the company’s larger governmental customers in USA. In June, the company receives a strategically important order from the FBI of 60 units of Office Logical systems.

2010

MSAB receives the largest order ever in the company history from the American Government. Shortly thereafter, it receives a further order from the same client for double the volume of units and North America becomes the single largest market for MSAB. Meanwhile in the UK over 97% of all Police Forces have acquired an XRY

2009

The company is establishes a subsidiary business in the U.S. with offices in Washington, DC. A further subsidiary is established in the UK which has become the company’s largest market. A three-year framework agreement with the French Interior Ministry is secured and generates one of the company’s largest ever orders.

2008

XRY becomes the de facto standard in mobile forensics and a second breakthrough product is launched called XACT. This provides physical support for mobile phones and can recover deleted information. The company is recognized as a ‘Gazelle’ of current industry and listed on the Technology Fast 500 in which only those companies that show consistent

2007

The company achieves a growth rate of 93%. A new launch plan is introduced for XRY, which involves five product updates per year. XRY now supports over 500 different phone models.

2006

XRY is featured in Fortune magazine entitled “How to get the most out of a mobile phone”. Version 3.0 of XRY launches making it possible to create reports in local languages.

2005

Orders received for XRY from Germany and Austria. MSAB launches the first training courses in forensic analysis with a focus on preservation of evidence in cell phones.

2004

A new issue of shares is used to finance a global launch of the new XRY product and becomes the very first dedicated product in the field of mobile device forensics. First sales are made in the UK.

2003

SoftGSM and the subsequent product Softnet are brought together under the name Mobile Communication Suite. The very first version of SoftGSM-XRY is sold.

2002

Joel Bollö takes over the CEO role from Henrik Tjernberg and talks begin with the Swedish police regarding their needs for forensic tools to read the contents of mobile phones.

2000

The launch of the Softnet tool which connects laptops to the Internet automatically via cable, wireless or mobile phone communications.

1998

The first proprietary product SoftGSM – a software-based GSM modem communications tool is launched. In the same year the company goes public with a first share issue. The following year, MSAB is formerly quoted on the Swedish stock exchange.

1984

Micro Systemation was started by Bo Eriksson as a technology consulting company focusing on advanced data communications. The current chairman Henrik Tjernberg was hired the following year.
