FORMOBILE’s Goal: Improve digital safety and security in Europe

FORMOBILE is a project striving to improve digital safety and security in Europe through the creation of a complete end-to-end mobile forensic investigation chain.

It is a unique opportunity to bring together experts from government, academia and private sector to improve mobile forensics in terms of tools, standards and training. The project is an innovation funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme.

A consortium of partners will work in collaboration over the next three years with an overarching goal to establish an end-to-end mobile forensic investigation chain and to improve digital safety and security.

There are deliverables expected from FORMOBILE focused around three key areas:

  • Tools

  • Standards

  • Training

The project has been divided into Work Packages that reflect the analysis chain used by security practitioners which examine mobile evidence. More information about each of the individual work packages can be found here: https://formobile-project.eu/project

Methods will be developed and implemented to cover the forensic acquisition of data from mobile devices, plus the decoding and analysis of the data as well as the presentation of the evidence.

For law enforcement agencies we believe that this project could be of huge benefit and we are actively seeking EU customers who would like to become more involved with the project.

The benefits for law enforcement agencies are as follows:

  • Network with fellow law enforcement agencies across Europe on a cutting-edge digital forensics project

  • Receive regular updates on the development of standards for mobile forensics in Europe

  • Be invited to attend FORMOBILE meetings for work package consultations and debates

  • Have the opportunity to shape policies in digital forensics for the future of Europe

  • Receive details of new mobile forensic training curriculums as they become available

  • Shape the future of the industry, tools, forensic practices, standards and education

  • Be featured on the FORMOBILE website as a future-thinking LEA

  • Gain insight on participation in EU-funded research projects and learn about the possibility to be involved as a consortium partner in the future

  • Participate in a training program developed within the FORMOBILE project

The FORMOBILE project team would love to hear from you.
