Menu overview
This page gives you an overview of the buttons available in the ribbon menu at the top of the XAMN interface.

Open | Open cases or individual .xry files. When you click Open, a list of the most recently opened cases and files are shown in the dropdown menu. If no case or file is open, the list of recent cases and files is displayed on the main screen for easy access. | Open a case or a file |

Close | Close the currently open case or .xry file. | |

Import |
Import .xry files or other types of data, like warrant returns or vehicle data, and add them to your case. |

Save | Save any changes, like added notes and tags, the case review progress, and the mapping between the case and the .xry files in it. | |

Add to Report Builder | Add data (all, filtered, or selected) directly to the Report Builder. | |

Report Builder | Create reports where you can include evidence data relevant to the case as well as, for example, details about the data sources, examiner notes, and pictures. | Report Builder |

Save a subset | Save a subset of a case, which means saving the artifacts you choose (all, filtered, or selected) to a new case. This is useful for example when you need to share a case with some information redacted. | Save subset |

Report/Export | Create an export or report that includes the artifacts you choose (all, filtered, or selected). | Export formats |

Adjust timestamps to see time data normalized to any time zone. |

Exclude artifacts | Exclude known data, like system and application files, or artifacts with specific tags. | Exclude artifacts |

Duplicates | Choose how to handle duplicate file artifacts. | Group identical or similar artifacts |

Case review | Choose how to display artifacts based on if they have been reviewed or not. | Track the case review progress |

Quick views | Select which Quick views to display on the Case tab and in the Filters pane on the work tab. To save the current filter settings and view settings as a Quick View preset, click Quick views, enter a name for the Quick View in the Save as field and click Add. |

Tags | Apply tags to the selected artifacts. To add new tags or edit tag settings, click Tags and select Edit tags.... | Tags |

Options | Access the XAMN application settings. The settings control for example:

Smart processing | Use the Smart processing tools in XAMN to quickly process large amounts of data, to be able to spend your investigation time on the most relevant artifacts. The available Smart processing tools are:

Project VIC | Open a dialog to run the Project VIC check. If Project VIC has not been set up, clicking this button will take you to the Project VIC settings page. | Project VIC |

Scripts | Run and manage scripts. The scripts can be used to automate tasks like searches, selections, or even creation of new artifacts from databases, within the case or externally. | Scripts |

Help | The Help button contains four options.

Information | Show information about the software version, technical support contact information, and license information. |
