XEC 7.9 and KTE: Improved Mobile Forensics Management & Frontline Functionality

We are happy to announce that the new version of XEC and KTE have been released.

XEC Director 7.9 allows you to manage your mobile forensics efforts more effectively and ensure greater productivity across your organization. At the same time, the new versions of the Kiosk, Tablet and Express from MSAB bring improved frontline functionality.

What’s new in XEC?

Create system groups

In the latest release of XEC, you now can create system groups, making it easier than ever to manage your frontline estate. You’re able to organize your client systems in a way that mirrors your organization’s structure. Additionally, improvements were made that allow multiple admins to work together within the same environment.

New standard report – User competency

Being able to share detailed analytics from your estate is a must. So, we’re pleased to introduce a new standard report: the User Competency Report. Especially if your organization follows ISO standards and therefore needs to follow up on the users’ competences, this new feature will be very advantageous.

New setting for Kiosk OS security updates server

We have made several improvements to the security settings for XEC Director 7.9 managed environments. With the new settings, you can be assured that your entire frontline estate has the latest security updates installed.

What’s new in KTE?

The MSAB Kiosk, Tablet and Express have seen several improvements in this release, including:

New Kiosk admin setting to enable OS security updates

There is now a setting to enable Windows updates for standalone Kiosks and Tablets.

Improved performance for uploading extracted evidence

Uploading extracted evidence has become faster and more efficient.

The total time it takes for a file upload from Kiosks, Tablets, or XRY Express client systems, including the unpacking of the file and making it ready for use, has been reduced, meaning evidence files are available quicker than ever for analysts to begin working with.
