Smartphone Apps

XRY offers smartphone 'Apps' support on iPhone, Android & Blackberry OS

Did you know that XRY now supports the forensic extraction of data from a whole host of different smartphone applications on the iPhone, Android and Blackberry operating system platforms?

We now have ‘app’ support for a wide range of different apps including Facebook, MySpace, Skype, Flickr, Gmail, PingChat! and much more.

A lot of this data can be found in the Log section of the XRY report and in our next release of XRY v5.5 we have fully documented what support we offer and where the data is located in XRY.

In particular if there are new apps that you would like to see supported in the future, then please do let us know as we want our tools to support your needs.

China Clones

Did you know we support hundreds of China Clone phones?

There are lots of cellphones being produced in China these days and not all of them are entirely open about their origins. Recently we have seen the NOKLA and the SUMSUNC brand names as good examples of Chinese creativity!

What can you do about all these fake phones? Well the good news is that XRY already supports hundreds of these ‘China Clones’ as we call them.

We have already secured many of these devices and provide full support for them, equally there are so many of these phones available in the Asian markets that it is almost impossible to secure every model available.

So to combat this we created the China Clone Generic Profile and it works for the vast majority of these clone phones because most of them are all built on the same chipset.

So the next time you come across a phone that claims to be one thing but when you look more deeply you discover it is not what it seems – try the China Clone profiles in XRY and you may be pleasantly surprised what we can recover for you!

Mobile Phone Forensic Support

Possibly the most abused term in the business?

Before you believe the hype make sure you check the facts. It seems that some companies in our industry have started to claim mobile devices support numbers based on devices that have not even been subject to any testing?

Why are they doing this – simple - in order to claim the highest possible number of supported handsets, because they know that is one of the measurements people consider when deciding which forensic system to invest in.

If you saw the following on the support list, what would you think?

"This list does not guarantee support of any specific phone model."

Exactly what we thought when we read it, no doubt? It is not exactly helpful if you are attempting to buy a solution for the examination of mobile phones.

So we thought it would be nice to reassure you that here at Micro Systemation we always obtain an original of the device we claim as supported. That way we can ensure full forensic testing before claiming the model is supported.

At our Head Office in Stockholm we have thousands of these original mobile phones in our secure vault. If you ever have a support issue, or technical guys can get immediate access to the same device for testing. This is what makes the difference between marketing hype and delivering a true forensic solution.
